Your responsibilities in a few words!

Manage all aspects of accounting and financial reporting – Propose improvements to the financial control framework on accounting and financial reporting – Monitor risk developments, normative changes and bank projects – Represent the Financial Controls team to senior management – Engage on an equal footing with the first control teams to independently identify, measure, control and report on overall risks – Where appropriate, Lead staff assigned to Level 2 control reviews toward established goals – Guide and train Financial Controls staff – Assume a leadership role on the team and actively participate in the longer term goals of the Financial Controls team – Stay abreast of industry trends to determine their impact on the firm’s regulatory reporting framework – Identify risks, be able to test controls, arrive at a conclusion, and write reports – Participate in other improvement projects (digitization, automation, processes, etc.)

Your assets for this position!

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting in the financial industry, audit, financial control, consolidation and supervision
  • CPA designation and knowledge of French GAAP (assets)
  • Good knowledge of the financial market and investment products
  • Good knowledge of the accounting schemes and the treatment of financial products
  • Good knowledge of IFRS, U.S. GAAP and consolidation principles for banks
  • Experience with financial instruments
  • Bilingual: advanced written and verbal communication and presentation skills (French is considered an asset for this position)
