Your responsibilities in a few words!

Comply with the professional standards of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) as well as US and Canadian regulatory requirements – Participate in the planning of each audit, including meetings with relevant business and functional managers, review changes or events impacting the business, acquire in-depth knowledge of the business, revise/improve the audit work program, and define the scope by adopting a risk-based approach – Carry out audit assignments by examining key processes, associated risks, planned controls, effective controls, identify gaps and draw conclusions. Prepare working papers to support conclusions and recommendations – Participate in the closure of regulatory recommendations by providing in-depth analysis and documentation – Assess risks to audit units after each assignment – Organize quarterly risk monitoring meetings with senior management – Investigate significant incidents or cases of fraud when necessary – Collaborate on specific projects aimed at improving audit methodology and practices.

Your assets for this position!

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business administration

Minimum 15 years' experience, including at least 8 years in financial institutions

An MBA or CPA designation would be an asset.

Internal auditor certification (CIA) or CFA would also be an advantage

Excellent command of written and spoken French and English

Very good knowledge of auditing standards and practices

Excellent analytical and synthesis skills

A good understanding of accounting standards such as IFRS and US GAAP, particularly with regard to the valuation of provisions

Excellent understanding of Global Banking products, Front to Back, as well as banking practices in credit risk management

Excellent knowledge of compliance standards set by external regulatory bodies in Canada and the United States

Excellent negotiation skills

Ability to maintain professional relations with auditees and interact effectively with the various stakeholders

Strong awareness of risks and controls, and knowledge of risk assessment methodology
Credit Risk
- Excellent knowledge of key US and Canada regulations impacting the Global
Banking.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation), interpersonal skills,
strong facilitation, and interviewing skills
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Ability to maintain effective relations between auditors and auditees, and interact
effectively with different stakeholders
- Strong risk and control awareness, and knowledge of risk assessment
methodology
- Strong expertise utilizing advanced functions in Spreadsheet (i.e., Excel), and data
analytics.
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong ability to work in a team: liaise with other bank departments and adapt to
new situation and approaches
- Ability to maintain his or her skills and expertise through continuing training on
the important changes in the profession and the banking industry
- Excellent ethical behavior
