Your responsibilities in a few words!
Review and approve monthly and quarterly financial statements – Advise the Chief Accountant on strategic financial issues and the allocation of government funding by project – Support the President in budgetary and financial decisions – Present financial results and strategic issues to the Board of Directors and the Audit Committee in English – Provide high-level oversight of the annual audit process – Serve as a resource person for strategic financial matters – Gradually document and structure the financial responsibilities of the role – Ensure continuity of the finance function during the incumbent’s absence – Make recommendations to improve financial processes and governance.
Your assets for this position!
CPA designation
At least 10 years of experience in financial management or financial control
Experience in project-based accounting or grant management
Experience serving on a board of directors or an
Experience at a nonprofit or quasi-public organization
Knowledge of NetSuite (a plus)
Experience in the life sciences or research sector
Excellent command of financial statements and audits
Professional proficiency in French and English
